Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Grant Writing & Grant Management (50%)
Develop and write grant proposals to foundations, government funders, and other grant-making organizations, communicating the organization’s mission and programs to potential funders.
Review RFPs and NOFOs for appropriateness to the organization and write summaries for the most appropriate funding possibilities
Track and report on grants that are pending, received, denied, and/or funded.
Monitor grant progress and spending to comply with funder reporting requirements.
Collaborate with internal staff on reports, funding opportunities, and the grant-tracking database.
Collaborate with staff to develop and manage budgets, goals, and objectives for grant proposals and program reports.
Fund Development & Donor Management (25%)
Proactively identify and approach potential funders to establish new funding partnerships and strengthen Hamdard’s relationships in the institutional funding community.
Provide regular, informative reports to funders and create opportunities for funder engagement to maintain continued support and involvement with the organization.
Assist with donor materials and strategy, including direct mailings, social media fundraising, the annual report, and sponsorship opportunities.
Oversee fundraising database & gift acknowledgment letters to donors.
Assist the development department as needed in making personal fundraising appeals.
Follow up with funders and donors as needed.
Marketing & Communications (25%)
Support communications, marketing, government relations, and public relations efforts through paid platforms in ways that support the organization's integrated campaigns, leveraging opportunities to promote the organization's current and future strategic initiatives.
Utilize organization branding and image for the timely creation of materials, including newsletters, annual reports, eblasts, website updates, press releases, and other potential materials designed to educate and engage key stakeholders and donors.
Support the development and design of marketing materials.
Provide support for maintaining and growing the organization’s website.
Ensure all messaging reflects the organization's mission, values, and branding priorities.
Track ROI to measure the performance of each marketing strategy and continually refine it.
Competencies:Exceptional writing skills are required
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to handle multiple tasks required
Strong analytic ability to easily consume, process, and analyze data and draw valid conclusions is preferred
Ability to communicate effectively (oral, written, and presentations) across all organizational levels preferred
Strong critical thinking to assess data and variables to determine how they could impact a project’s success and ability to meet funder goals preferred
Ability to interact with all stakeholders and build strong relationships at all levels and across all internal departments and external organizations
Ability to work with diverse persons and personalities preferred
Qualifications: Required 2+ years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, fund development, sponsor solicitation, grant management, and/or marketing, preferably at a not-for-profit
Prefer experience working in a multi-cultural environment
Prefer experience with Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Canva, and CRM
Prefer interest in the social service, public health, and/or healthcare fields
Prefer experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism
