Patient Service Representative (PSR)
The Patient Service Representative (PSR) performs front desk functions, including patient registration, scheduling, and customer service. The PSR is a vital part of the patient care team. Responsibilities focus on customer service, scheduling, ensuring efficient patient flow through the clinic, and supporting care teams. Hours are Monday through Saturday. This is a wonderful entry-level role in Hamdard’s organization, and our team will train qualified candidates with customer service and office-related experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Strive for excellence in customer service at all times
Welcome guests as they arrive at the health center
Understand, respect, and comply with patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
Register new patients in the electronic health record
Provide health center orientation to new patients and their families
Verify patient’s insurance, address, phone number, demographics, and eligibility are correct and current
Schedule patient appointments
Receive and process patient balances and co-payments at the time of service
Participate in daily care team huddles
Assist with inventory management of office supplies and forms
Ensure the reception area is neat, clean, and safe
Maintains open lines of communication with health center staff and stakeholders
Supports the organization’s team-based approach to coordinate patient care
Participates in patient call campaigns as needed
Other duties as assigned that meet the needs to serve our participants and patients
Qualifications:High school diploma preferred
Experience working in a Community Health setting is preferred
Bilingual in Bosnian, Urdu, or Spanish, highly preferred
Excellent team member skills are required
Dedication to social justice principles is required
1-2 Saturday clinics per month are required
1-2 early morning (7 am) and evening clinics (7 pm) per week are required
Annual influenza vaccination is needed between October 1st and April 30th.
