Amer Abdelghafoor, MSW, MS, PA-C

Amer joined the Hamdard team in September 2022 as the Community Health Program Manager. As of March 2023, Amer is a board certified Physician Assistant serving Hamdard’s Roger’s Park clinic. Prior to joining the Hamdard team, Amer held positions as an HIV/AIDS Intensive Care Coordinator and a clinical Social Worker. He earned his Master of Social Work Degree at the University of Michigan and subsequently earned his PA degree at the University of Detroit Mercy. Amer decided to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant because he wanted to expand on the skills he learned as a social worker so he can be able to more directly work with patients and treat their chronic medical conditions.
